Reignition

Inside us all exists our inner world. It is full of contradictions; complex yet simple, mysterious yet obvious. The elements of self reflect the elements of nature. Earth--Our stability, core, physical manifestations in the world. Water--Our memory, emotions, depth, our ability to transform. Air--Our intellect, philosophy, imagination and wonder. Fire--Our drive, strength, motivation, passion for connection. We must nurture ourselves from all angles, but as we head into a long winter, I ask how much have you fed your inner Fire? When the icy snow and darkness covers the Earth in its shadow; Where is your light? Is it vivid? Fierce? Unyielding?

There are phases when our ignition is lost. Maybe we’ve suffered pain, loss or betrayal. Maybe our sense of self is changing. Maybe where we used to find joy, we find nothing. So what revives the spark? Fire needs oxygen. It cannot be closed off and thrive. To burn brightly is to live with a passion for life and stand in your courage, remaining open to new opportunities and connections. Vulnerability is your bravery. It is your spark. Our willingness to live in authenticity is the source of a light that never goes out.

Sometimes our fire is found when we help someone rediscover theirs. Together we can create ways to inspire each other. We challenge one another, and dig deeper than we could go on our own. We illuminate the way to different and unique paths that couldn’t be found without searching together. The next time you are with someone you care for, ask them: What drives you? What inspires you? What do you want to create in your life? How can I help? Take that risk. Let these intimate questions bring you both deeper within yourselves and closer to each other.
