Shift in Thought

What do we do when the path we’re on—a path we’re so sure about—shifts? Suddenly you find yourself facing a newer landscape. It’s dizzying and disorienting. It’s different and strange. The way it winds is unpredictable and exhilarating. This wasn’t where you were supposed to end up, but here you are.

So what do you choose? Do you walk this new path like funeral procession? Grieving, with tear-filled eyes and unanswerable questions? Or do you walk it like a ceremonial right? Head held high into something new, with bright eyes and wonder?

The wisdom is in knowing we don’t have to choose. Transformation is both and everything in between. We can allow it all to be. Every and any emotion valid, and no more important than another. They are there to be felt, acknowledged and released. Because when we make any sort of transition in life, there is something to mourn. There is something to celebrate. It is the human experience to swirl in the simultaneous.

So, where will it take you next?
